My name is Melissa Cheyne-Devlin and I started The Adirondack Alternative Animal Care Company in April of 1999. The Adirondack Alternative Animal Care Company is all about you and your pets. I share my home with two dogs myself, and fully understand the complications that arise when work or other obligations keep you away for extended periods of time. I understand the nagging feeling of knowing that while you're at work, your poor pooch is sitting at home with his legs crossed! I feel for my dogs what I imagine people feel for their children, and strive to provide them with the safest and happiest lives that I can. With all this in mind, Adirondack Alternative was born, to serve the needs of pet lovers in the Saratoga Springs area.
The Adirondack Alternative Animal Care Company offers pet sitting, afternoon dog walking, pet transport, brand pet food sales and delivery services, as well as my own homemade organic dog treats. Adirondack Alternative is also proud to carry brand fully reflective safety clothing for pets and their people!
Adirondack Alternative is insured, bonded and is owned and operated by one person only. You will always be able to take comfort in the fact that your pets are safe and secure in the comfort of their home with a competent professional. I have experience in veterinary medicine, and am capable of administering all types of medication, including subcutaneous injections. I also am proficient in canine and feline CPR. (Though I hope to never need to use it.)
