The history of WKIP Jingles

 

Radio has relied on catchy bursts of music to help identify itself with the listener.  WKIP is no exception.  Here is journey through time of the jingles used by WKIP.  Sit back and relax and relive these sounds.

 

 

 1940s – One of the early jingles

1940s  - This one has a big band sound

1950s – Doo Wah, Doo Wah!

1950s – Fourteen Five-0 song – Is that Bing??

1963 – It’s 1450 in Poughkeepsie…

1968 - Star Group – From WKIP’s Top 40 days, proud boasts being part of the Star Group

Hip 'Kip!! – WKIP was the hip place to be in the summer of 1968

Ronnie Victor – The original morning man for WKIP’s brief period of Top 40.  After about a month into the format, Ronnie just up and left; his whereabouts remains a mystery.
