The energetic Amity workers served over 400 people with roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, 3-bean salad, harvard beets, carrots, rolls, and homemade cherry and lemon meringue pie. Amity has the best cooks in town and we enjoy working together towards a common goal; this particular goal was one of our fund raisers, the Spring Supper. Whether you eat in or take out, you will agree that it tastes real good!
The food is dished into large bowls by our kitchen people and put out on the tables family syle in our chapel hall; an "all you can eat" delight. Our own people not only make the food and dish up the food (see Patty and Sheila busy at work) but serve as waiters and waitresses also. Ask us anything about our church and we will be glad to give you an answer or find out an answer for you.

Amity is the sponsor of Boyscout Troop 30 which meets in our church every Wednesday night. As you can see from the picture, many of these young boys help out during the meals also. Everything from pouring coffee, water, and milk, to washing dishes in the kitchen. In this picture you can see the Assistant Scoutmaster, Ross, giving a couple scouts some directions.
In this picture, Dovieanna, and a couple of scouts busily prepare to serve the coffee to our guests. Many wear their Amity t-shirts with either the heart and handshake Sunday School logo or the cross and wheat church t-shirt logo.
Other Amity waitresses, June, Beth, and Debbie, stand and visit while they wait for people to eat what has been served so that they can serve some of that delicious pie. When Amity asks for volunteers to help out at our meals, the members flock to help. Why? Because they have fun. It is a wonderful time of fellowship. A time to get to know each other better. |
