The History and Genealogy of the Family of Andrew Bohonon of Salisbury, NH. Andrew Bohonon came to America from Scotland about 1723 and landed at Boston, MA. In 1734, his was the fourth name on a list of 27 settlers of Contoocook, NH where he raised a family of Revolutionary patriots. Although the first ancestor of this family in America used the spelling of Bohonon, most descendants now use variant spellings that include Bohonan, Bohanon, Bohanan and Bohannon. In my files I have used the spelling most often associated with each individual. In Scotland, the name was originally Buchanan and today the Clan Buchanan still recognizes Bohanon and variants as a sept of the clan. In the following pages is a compilation of the descendants of Andrew Bohonon. I have listed them in different ways so you may choose how to view them. Like all genealogy projects, this is a work in progress. I will update these pages as I receive new information.
