Descendants of Friedrich Wilhelm Schmidt

Friedrich Wilhelm Schmidt came to America from Germany before 1854 and lived in the area of Watervliet, in Albany County, NY. It appears that during the 1890s, members of the family began to use the name Smith instead of Schmidt.
