AEM Cold Air Intake Related Modifications

You have to cut the AEM intake pipe to make it fit with the new position of the throttle body.

I cut 3" off the horizontal pipe where it connects to the throttle body and 1" off the other end of the short pipe. I plugged the intake fitting with a vacuum fitting and put a K&N valve cover breather filter on the valve cover fitting.

You will have to translate some of the instructions when they are talking about a "double metal pipe assembly". This assembly was removed when you installed the AEM.

Under boost the high vacuum in the intake system will tend to suck oil out of the valve cover.

Actually oil vapor. This oil vapor goes into the SC itself right through the throttle body as from the valve cover.

You can use a breather filter and place it on the valve cover, then plug up the other side on the intake pipe.

K&N Part number KNN-62-2470 available from summit racing for around $8.00.

The engine also sucks in oil through the PCV valve/Oil seperator box too. Both these sources should be connected to a catch can. A vented one is preferred, but completely illegal. More on this at a later date!
