Pre-Install Examination
Before you do your install, you had better know what and where the
following things are. Spend some time under your hood to reduce your confusion
when you actually do the installation.
Wire colors are taken directly fron JR's instructions.
First a text-only list. This will repeat with pictures interlaced.
-
Air Temp Sensor (On top of intake manifold. Wires are green
with blue stripe, red with yellow stripe.)
-
Charcoal Canister (Underneath and to the driver's side of the battery.)
-
Fuel Pressure Regulator (On the end of the driver's side of the
fuel rail.)
-
IAB Valve (Intake Air Bypass valve. On the top of the driver's side
of the intake manifold directly between the FPR and the firewall. Wires
are yellow with black stripe, pink with blue stripe.)
-
IAC Valve (Idle Air Control valve. Behind the throttle body bolted
to the manifold. Has coolant hose that connects to throttle body. Wires
are yellow with black stripe, black with blue stripe.)
-
Knock Sensor (Above the Alternator on the back of the block.
It is a green plug, single wire is red with blue stripe.)
-
MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. On top of throttle
body, wires are green with white stripe, white with yellow stripe, yellow
with white stripe).
-
Purge Cut Solenoid Valve (On top of manifold, vacuum hose to manifold,
vacuum hose to charcoal cannister, wires are yellow with black stripe and
solid red)
-
TPS Sensor (Throttle Position Switch. On side of throttle body opposite
the throttle cable return spring, wires are yellow with blue stripe, red
with a black stripe, green with a blue stripe.)
-
Vacuum Resevoir (Under manifold, connected to IAB valve.)
-
Wiring Harness and Major Plugs
-
ABS Power Lead (It has an orange plug, that passes through the driver’s
fender.)
-
Power Steering Pressure Switch (Down near the alternator. I'll give
more detail when I have it.)
-
PCV valve that came out of the oil separator box
Now we start over with pictures interlaced.

You can see this with your eyeballs, but my camera can't take pictures
as close as you need to be to see it. Look under the IAB towards the head.

MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. On top of throttle

-
Vacuum Resevoir (Under manifold, connected to IAB valve. This is
used to provide vacuum for the IAB valve at high RPMs on the VTEC cam,
where there's not enough vacuum left to do the job!)
-
Wiring Harness and Major Plugs
-
ABS Power Lead (It has an orange plug, that passes through the driver’s
fender.)
This also has no good picture.
-
Power Steering Pressure Switch (Down near the alternator. I'll give
more detail when I have it.)
This also has no good picture.
-
PCV valve that came out of the oil separator box
