Response to “What is your
name?”
This video clip is from an
investigation conducted by the Albany Ghost Investigators in an old mansion in Menands, NY. The video is
from our 4-camera surveillance system. What happens in the video is not
important. What happens to the surveillance system is what is
interesting. Despite being rewired, inspected and thoroughly checked out
by electricians, this site has experienced a number of odd electrical
disturbances. Lights, computers, calculators, televisions and radios all
have shut off of their own accord only to turn on by themselves seconds
later. In some offices staff have experienced unexplained breezes. An
empty box was observed on one occasion to have jumped up and down on the
floor. Numerous times the mansion's magnetic door alarm system has gone
off for no apparent cause. Also, many staff report hearing the metal
push-bars on the security doors pushed and doors closing--despite no
one other than the witness being in the building.
The surveillance system
from which this clip is taken had been operating flawlessly for over an
hour prior to the occurrence. After the occurrence, it continued to
function properly for the rest of the two plus hours in the
investigation. No other electrical appliances or fixtures in the room
were affected and the individual monitoring the system stated that the
system was not bumped or touched “…it simply went off and came on
again”. What is intriguing about this clip is that an investigator
was downstairs off camera (Channel 2) issuing an invitation for any
presences to make themselves known. If one listens carefully, you can
hear the investigator say, “My name is David. What’s your name?” The
system shuts down immediately after “name” for several seconds-- just
long enough to give one’s name. Unfortunately, none of the microphones
picked up an audible response.
