First, some thoughts… ... for orb lovers The Albany Ghost Investigators has taken numerous photographs with "orbs" in them. These are usually caused by the illumination of airborne particles close to the camera lens by the flash. Because there is obviously nothing paranormal about illuminated airborne particles, we don’t include photos of these. That being said, photos of orbs that are caught in motion may be quite another thing altogether. Because the verdict on these still seems in question, we’ve included a few on Investigations, page 5. If you have evidence supporting an argument that motion-orbs are also airborne particles or some other known photographic artifact, please email that to us. We’d like to review your evidence. ...on investigation "evidence" Unfortunately, most cases that are investigated do not turn up any definitive, knock-you-over, proof-positive evidence supportive of a haunting. Despite having spent several hours interviewing witnesses, taking preliminary photographs, developing a floor plan and a half dozen more hours at a site videotaping and making audio recordings, investigators can still go away with little to show for their time. This doesn’t necessarily mean that there is an absence of paranormal activity at the site. It just means that there wasn’t any activity captured while investigators were there. Another consideration is that the time investigators spend at a site investigating is only a small slice of a day. Since paranormal activity is usually by its nature, infrequent, occurring days, weeks or even months apart, it is almost too fortunate for activity to occur at the time an investigation is underway. Nevertheless, we continue to investigate with hope that one day, we will get that quintessential footage!
