The Endurance - The official site of the film by Morgan Stanely: The Endurance Shackleton's legendary Antarctic Expedition - Has a video clip from the film.

IMAX FILM Site - Info about the Shackleton IMAX film which NOVA helped produce.

Sir Ernest Shackleton Tribute   An excellent Shackleton site by Susan J. Paxton with lots of information.

Shackleton's Titantic Enquiry testimony The entirety of Shackleton's testimony during the Board of Trade's Titanic Enquiry. Or go to their Home page .


The Endurance by Kodak A site all about the Endurance expedition, with lots of photos and a nice interactive map. The site is a little slow, but worth a look.

http://www.venusians.com This band finds Shackleton to be an inspiration, and wrote the song "the song I speak of uses Shackelton's journey as a metaphor for finding one's lost soul. The chorus in the song is "Never for me the lowered banner, never the last endeavor", and as you probably know, these are Shackleton's own words. The song is entitled "Isle Of Ice", and you can hear a clip of it.

frankhurley.com A site dedicated to the Endurance photographer Frank Hurley. Some nice information, and they are selling a book called Shackleton's photographer.

The Antarctic Connection A commercial site. This one sells much in Shackleton related stuff, including videos, books and photos. In fact I saw 3 Shackleton vidoes listed hear, one of which I had not seen before. The site also has lots of good Antartic links.

The James Caird Society and dulwich college I believe this is the full time of the James Caird when it is not touring.

 Walking out of history A nice site with maps and photos, which outlines the Endurance expedition. It also has sound clips of quotes. Take note though, these sound clips are mainly by actors.

Christian Science Monitor Has a review of The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition by Caroline Alexander. They also used my site as a reference for further information.

SHACKLETON HOMEPAGE A sight by David Shackleton. It contains the Shackleton family of arms, as well as a nice little Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton page.

Get Ready for Shackleton Mania  An excellent Wall Street Journal article that led me to discover Shackleton.

American Museum of Natural History   Describes Shackleton's famous boat journey in great detail with many extras.

Ernest Shackleton A cool little polar exploration site, has info about Scott and Amundsen too.

Antarctic Philatelic Home Page  A site all about stamps? Well yes there is plenty there about that, but this site also has the most thoroughly written online biographies of the great Antarctic explorers. This site is highly recommended by me.

The Ice A site by Robert Holmes who works at McMurdo Station Antarctica. This site is very well done and contains lots of great pictures about what life is like in Antarctica today.

ATHY HERITAGE CENTRE This is a museum which has the only display in Ireland devoted to the exploits of Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton.

Scott Polar Research Institute  The oldest research center in the world which covers both the Arctic and Antarctic regions.

A Low-Latitude Antarctic Gazetteer This is an interesting site which contains a listing of sites of Antarctic interest outside of the Antarctic. Lots of photos of explorers statues, plaques, former homes, etc.

Bert's South Pole page An awesome site about life on Antarctica today. Contains a virtual tour of the base on the South pole. Tons of  pictures.

Dad's pages A different Shackleton site. It contains a picture of Shackleton's grave, as well as South Georgia info and poems.

OneWorld Magazine - ANTARCTICA: TERRA INCOGNITA An interesting site which contains information on Antarctica and it's explorers. It contains a nice long summary of the Endurance voyage.
