BACKGROUND

Born 2335 to a family of Starfleet officers. Blind since birth.

Received V.I.S.O.R. (Visual Instrument and Sensory Organ Replacement) at age 5, enabling him to see a much broader range of electromagnetic radiation than most humans, including the "visible" spectrum but also extending into infrared and radio wavelengths.

Entered Starfleet Academy at age 18 (2353).

Graduated Starfleet Academy (2357).

SERVICE RECORD (HIGHLIGHTS)

Served as shuttle pilot on the Jovian Run.

Served aboard U.S.S. Victory as ensign.

Transferred to U.S.S. Enterprise-D, served as flight controller (2364).

Promoted to lieutenant (2365) and became chief engineer of Enterprise-D.

Brainwashed by Klingon/Romulan spies. He is considered fully recovered from this event. (2367)

Kidnapped by Dr Tolian Soran and tortured with electric shocks from a nano-probe attached to his left ventrical. (2371)

Supervised final construction of U.S.S. Enterprise-E (2373).
