The name Traynor in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic Mac Threinfhir Sept taken from words meaning 'strong man'. The Sept was based in Counties Monaghan and Louth where the majority of descendants can still be found.Variants include Treanor, Trainor and MacCrainor. |
