CAUTION!!
YOU NEED TO BE A GUITAR JUNKY TO GO ANY FURTHER!!!

This is
"Alice" my Epiphone Les Paul Special II. I replaced the pickups with
Gibson 496-R and 500-T humbuckers (same as Flying Vee or "Jimmy Page"
signature). The volume pot has been replaced with a push-pull that is set up
for single or double coil use. The tuners have been replaced with Schallers.
The action is set up very low and it is a very fast, light weight guitar. I
generally keep this in a DGDGBD tuning. It has a nice full distorted sound for
things like the "Black Crows" and the "Stones". The artwork
is from Alice in Wonderland.

This is my
Nashville Deluxe Telecaster. It is totally stock with Tex-Mex pickups and a
maple fret board. I usually play with the selection switch
"in-between" the pickups for a nice clean, slightly out of phase
sound. When cranked, this guitar responds very nicely to a distortion pedal and
has a very nice "cut through the mix" sound with the bridge pickup. I
keep this guitar in standard tuning and use the clean settings for Jazz and
C&W and distort it for typical Chuck Berry type Rn'R.

This is my Carvin double neck circa mid 1970's. This has more
switches than my car and is almost as heavy. Other than that it is a beauty.
The 12 string neck has C22 Carvin pickups and I replaced the 6 string neck with
Carvin M22T and M22SD pickups. The small toggles control phase, split pole and
polarity and the larger ones are for pickups and neck choice. The action on
both necks is phenominal and the 12 string neck stays in tune forever!
The 12 string neck is tuned CGCEGC (var. of open C) and the 6 string neck is
tuned DGDGBD. The body and necks are "Rock Maple" and it requires a
4" strap, minimum.

This is a custom acoustic that I built myself. The top is
Englemann Spruce, the sides are "Tiger Maple". The bridge and
fretboard are ebony and the back is carved maple. It has Grover tuners and an
active Fishman pickup in the bridge. The pick guard is an old Glenn Miller
acetate record. The Celtic knot at the sound hole is mimiced in the green
abalone fret markers. The purfling is all inlayed veneer. It is a quiet guitar
and I often play it late at night while everyone is asleep.

This is my Alvarez
5021-12 string. Nancy had a "Hot Dot" pickup installed in it for my
birthday. It has a nice full sound and I generally keep it in standard tuning
because it has so many overtones that I have a hard time tuning it when my ears
are tired. I bought this in Little Rock Arkansas in '77. I was killing time in
a music store and this guitar just talked to me. It was pouring rain and I had
no place to play it so I drove out of town. The sun finally came out and I
pulled over and walked out into a cotton field and sat down on a bale to try it
out. The black pickers stopped what they were doing and came over to listen. It
was an instant epiphany!

This is a Yamaha
FG-110 that I have had forever. It has been played so much that the top is
spongy and no longer produces crisp highs. It does however have great mids and
bottom. It has a Lawrence humbucker mounted in the sound hole and I have the
action set a little on the high side. I keep it tuned in DGDGBD and use it for
bottle necking. It has a wonderful blues sound and I often record rhythm tracks
with it instead of a standard electric.

This is a Giannini
12 string circa 1970. I rescued it from a friend's basement. The bridge has
bellied the sound board from the tension of concert tuning so I keep it tuned
to CGCGCE which doesn't exert as much force on the bridge. It has a nice soft
action and when used with a capo it makes a plausible mandolin. The sides and
back are nicely figured Rosewood. It is a little fragile so it does not get to
see the light of day much.

This is my Epihone
Les Paul Bass. It is totally stock with EMG pickups. It is small and light and
serves my needs just fine. I had a full upright acoustic bass that took up more
room than a couch that I sold and used the money to buy this. It stores much
better.
This is my daughter Tegan's Squire Stratacaster. She lets
me borrow it sometimes so that's why it's here. You can get a really nice funky
sound out of it. A lot like the "Spin Doctors" sound. It plays very
nicely and I sometimes have difficulty prying it out of my hands when I pick it
up.
