Had to go to New Hampshire. So naturally, we lined up a couple of brewpubs to visit on the way up and back. We found 6 that we could fit in. But it was odd, the first day every other place we went to was closed! So we didn't taste the highly touted brews at Jasper Murdock's (Norwich Inn, Norwich, VT) nor the brews at the Latchis Grill & Windham Brewery in Brattleboro, VT. Coincidentally, both of those brewpubs were in hotels/inns. And we didn't make it over to the Trailhead Pub, but we'll fit those three in the next time we go. We did get to 7 Barrel Brewery, McNeill's Brewery, Maple Leaf Malt & Brewing Co., and the Madison Brewing Co. Check out our reviews at New Hampshire/Vermont Brewpubs.

Made a Massachusetts sweep! 9 brewpubs! Two return visits, but seven we'd never been to before!  We took the Mass Pike out to Northampton, then up to Amherst, hopped back on the Pike to Waltham and then Boston. We scooted over to Cambridge to visit a brewpub we missed last year and then revisited one back in B-Town. On the trip back we stopped by Fenway Park (ah, that Green Monster - but alas, no Sox), drove up to Lowell (495 & 3 are the pits!) and then west on scenic rt. 2 to Greenfield.  Check out which pubs we visited and what we thought of them at these links:

We've been busy. Since our last update (ok so I've been lax) we've been to a few more brewpubs and have had a few more beers. Plus, I finally got around to creating a business card for us, much to Greg's delight. I should have had 1000 of them printed up the way he's been handing them out! And, because of these business cards, people are either taking us more seriously than we deserve OR they want to see who these idiots are. Since we've been handing out the business cards, owners/brewers have been coming over to chat us up. Greg is unbearably smug about it.

We went back to Davidson's on our way to the track. See our updated review here.
I went to Portland Maine for a week-long training course. It turned out that the instructor also loved microbrews. So we visited a few!

October 2000
What a week! We've been mentioned in the October/November 2000 issue of the Yankee Brew News! What a high that was! I can't figure out how they found out about our web page.  Click here to see our review!  And then there was the low: Because of that article, we have to change our Brew Review name! (Seems some people at work just don't have a sense of humor!)

New Name! New Logo! MTMugs, whattaya think?! And I just got back from a trip to San Diego. I hooked up with some folks from the conference (hi guys!) and checked out the brewpubs of San Diego. I had located quite a few from a web search but I could only head for the three in downtown San Diego. It turned out 2 of them were closed. The review of the one I did visit is here.

It's the holiday season! Parties everywhere! Our office party was at the Troy Pub & Brewery (guess who picked the joint?) Everyone seemed to have a lovely time. had their Porter and had their Oatmeal Stout. Both were definitely up to their usual standards. We had the Black Collar Stout Pie - usually a tasty dish. But the beef wasn't up to par - a little tough. We think it wasn't thawed before cooking. But the gravy...to kill for! We chalking it up to an extremely busy kitchen during this holiday rush. Merry Christmas everyone!
Hey, new business card! And if you print it out and run into us at lunchtime at anyone of the brewpubs we've reviewed, we'll buy you a beer!
