Caverns Creek Grist Mill

Museum and Country Store

Located in the Heart of Schoharie County

A unique and memorable experience awaits you at the Caverns Creek Grist Mill Museum and Country Store. Built in 1816 and listed as a National Historic Landmark, the mill has stood the test of time and offers a glimpse of what life was like in pioneer America.

Sitting as it has for almost 200 years, "Down By The Old Mill Stream", the mill has been restored and is operating once again. The self-guided tour features operation of the 12 foot waterwheel which powers the 1400 lb. millstone. With the educational and historical exhibits in our museum and a beautiful nature walk along the mill stream and raceway, it provides for a wonderful and educational afternoon.

"Mill around" our quaint Country Store offering a wide variety of gifts, crafts, locally produced maple syrup, honey, and preserves, and our own Caverns Creek Grist Mill flour, cornmeal and pancake mixes.

So...Come on...take a step back in time, "put your nose to the grindstone" so you can say, "You've been through the mill!"
