New York Interfaith Power & Light

New York Interfaith Power & Light (NYIP&L) was started by people in the religious community who are concerned about global warming and see it as a religious issue. Our mission is to promote faithful and just stewardship of God’s creation through energy conservation and the use of renewable energy.

If you share this concern, you might wish to join this network of individuals. The activities we engage in are:

· Making energy efficiency improvements in our own homes – such as installing CFLs (compact fluorescent bulbs), setting thermostats and hot water heaters at appropriate levels, buying energy efficient appliances.

· Supporting renewable energy by purchasing “green” power for our homes.

· Working within our congregations to find other concerned individuals or to encourage congregations to participate in NY IP&L.

· Support public policies that contribute to our goals.
