Participate in New York Interfaith Power & Light
Pass It Forward
Congregations, youth groups, judicatories or other faith organizations, and individual people of
faith - young and old - who support the mission of NY
IP&L and sign the Participation Agreement can become members.
Membership is free, but donations are welcome. NY IP&L is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization, so donations are tax-deductible.
Please print and fill out the
appropriate Participation Agreement and mail it to the address at the
bottom of the agreement.
NY IP&L’s Pass It Forward program provides $100 toward the cost of
a NYSERDA energy audit, which is the entire cost for most congregations. In
return, we ask only that you “pass it forward.” In other words, locate
another congregation that would also like $100 for a NYSERDA energy audit
and pass the $100 on to them as you see your energy savings add up!
Jonesville
United Methodist Church in Jonesville, NY has generously given a gift in
support of our Pass It Forward campaign. Thank you, Jonesville UMC!
Other member benefits
When you become a member of New York Interfaith Power & Light, you
will receive information about how you can implement the action or actions
you pledged to take. You'll also receive periodic newsletters that
will provide additional information about other actions you can take to
save energy and money.
Of course, the biggest benefit is that you will be a good steward of
God's gift of energy. You'll be preventing further global warming and power plant
pollution, and you'll be working for justice:
- Justice for people all over the world who are already feeling the
effects of global warming;
- Justice for future generations who face a future of more frequent
and intense weather events, flooding, drought, and other
catastrophes; and
- Justice for all creation.
