True Story

There once was a simple little Ruk named Rufus Stonefist. Rufus spent the majority of his time wandering aimlessly around the Zargnoth trying to build his power. Our story starts on the day that Rufus finally learned how to make Puffer Wings. Rufus, knowing thre is a Far Post at the nearby Jossman Town, rushes to Dillon Town at his top speed with thoughts only of squzskins on his little mind. All is peaceful as Rufus enters a Jossman Town for the first time. Rufus is overwhelmed by the sites and mistakenly attempts buy his squzskins at the Far Exotica. Surprisingly, the Jossman give him the squzkins and DO NOT charge him anything!!! Being the ever curious Ruk, Rufus attempts to see what other items the Jossmen will give him for free -- with every intention of making the Jossman take his money. Over the next few days Rufus buys huge amounts of White & Black Lotus Leaves (500+ each), a bit coin, a suit of Holy Plate Mail, and a Great Light Sword. Again, everything and anything is free!!! Now...this is were Rufus proves that he is, indeed, the dumbest monster on the island, becuase instead of informing the Jossman like a good little Ruk -- Rufus tells his group members. Some group members are eager to exploit this new knowledge and some are hesitant. Rufus gets a small attack of "do the right thing" and he PRs the Holy Plate (Rufus has banded armor). Rufus (barely) resists the temptation of getting more free stuff and instead decides to loot the nearby loggerhead camp. After a few visits to the camp, Rufus clears it and is finds a suit of Holy Plate Mail in the loot. Rufus is one happy puppy, because his karma was working & he got the best armor on the island (without cheating!)! Someone tells Rufus about the new religious ranks & he leaves (at high speed) for the nearest Kabuki Temple. During his temple travels, a group member learns about the Exotica bug & informs Rufus that the Jossman will be informed (something Rufus should have done turns ago) Feeling a little guilty about not doing the right thing, Rufus himself contacts the local Jossman Representative while ridding himself of all illegal items. The Jossman Representatives are NOT happy. Although one is glad that Rufus tossed his ill-gotten loot, they decide to punish poor, stupid Rufus (and everyone else who cheated the Jossman). One night while camping, two Jossman Enforcers (Rock Trolls Scruncher & Squeezer) visit Rufus to "settle the debts incurred to the Jossman Trade Union at various Far Exotica." The Enforcers were quite thorough leaving Rufus without any Oculars, Talismans, Dragon making parts, Holy Plate Mail, Heavy Iron Shield, White Lotus Leaves, Black Lotus Leaves, Great Fuvah Sword, the Defender and other miscellaneous (but valuable) items. [Click here to see the actual text from the actual enforcer visit taken from my own actual turn results] Being a stupid Ruk, Rufus resisted the enforcers collection methods so they smacked him around a little (well, a lot). Rufus is now stuck in a VERY tough area of the island without any armor or money, wielding very simple weapons, and without much health. Funny thing is, Rufus is completely content with the reparation demands of the Jossman Trade Union. Rufus, someday, hopes to be able to drop the title of "Dumbest Ruk on the Island" but doubts that it will happen anytime soon... |
