I love movies…I’ve probably seen over 5000 of them. It’s really hard to accurately assess this number but that’s probably accurate to +/- 20%.
My favorite movie of all time is definitely “The Wizard of OZ”. That is because it is one of the first quality movies I ever saw on the big screen, the first in color on a TV and (realistically) because I’ve seen it 15 or 20 times. It also appeals to an audience of varied ages and cinematic sophistication. By today’s standards the special effects are crude but they are adequate to allow us to suspend disbelief and enjoy the story at many levels.
Unfortunately for me I am an uncritical spectator. That means I’ll watch almost anything; I might not particularly like it but I’ll watch it. It don’t know what that says about me but it does give me an unlimited cinematic variety on any given dayJ
Here are a few movies I love that aren’t criticly acclaimed but fun to watch:
“Godzilla” (1998 hollywood version)
Any “Tremors” movie
“Quigley Down Under”
“Forbidden Planet”

This site is one of the 7 wonders of the Internet and I highly recommend it to anyone with even a casual interest in movies. I generally vote on movies I particularly like (or dislike) and don’t bother with the overwhelming mass of movies. Quite frankly, whether or not I vote is pretty capricious. The votes range from 1 to 10. I use 10 for the very best examples the medium has to offer. 9s are slightly flawed masterpieces. For example “Apocalypse Now” is one of the all time great movies but it has flawed editing. 8s are near misses but incredible movies in their own right. I suppose this makes for my top 200 movies but I constanly find great movies that I’ve forgotten to vote for L
