Bruce Campbell
|
Bruce Campbell has
to be the greatest actor ever. Way back when Army of Darkness was
in the movie theater, I bought the Darkman limited series comic
book. There was an article in the back of the book about Sam Raimi
(Creator of AoD and Darkman.) I then learned that AoD was the sequel
to the Evil Dead series. A week later, I saw "USA Up All Night"
was airing Evil Dead, so I decided to give it a try. This movie
was cool. I then went out and rented Evil Dead 2, and have been
a fan of Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi ever since. I watched Bruce
Campbell's Fox TV series "Brisco County Jr." and have even started
watching Hercules and Xena when I found out that Sam Raimi was involved.

Matthew Sweet
|
Matthew Sweet is
my Favorite Musician. Girlfriend was the first song I ever heard
from him, even though his music has been around for over a decade.
Girlfriend became one of Mtv's Buzz Clips back in 1991. The video
featured Space Adventure: Cobra. This was my first look at anime,
and everytime the video was on, I'd watch it. Matthew is a big fan
of anime. I decided to try the album, and at first, It wasn't too
into it. But, I gave him another chance, and bought his 1986 album,
Inside. This album blew me away. The more I listened to Girlfriend,
the more it grew on me. From that point on, every time he releases
an album, I get it the very same day. His latest album is "Blue
Sky on Mars". I've been to two Matthew Sweet concerts. They were
standing room only and I was in the first row at both (about 15
feet from Matthew.) After the concerts, Matthew was tired and didn't
come out, but a friend and I hung out in back by the trailor talking
to two of his band members, Tony Marsico and Ivan Julian.

Tanya Donelly (Belly)
|
When Belly first
appeared, I wasn't too much of a fan of them. I liked their first
single "Feed the Tree", but I wasn't really interested in their
music. Then, with the release of King, their second album, I heard
the song "Now they'll Sleep" and this song pulled me in. I waited
for BMG Music Service to get the album in, and I decided to give
it a try (if I only like one song, it is still worth it if the album
only cost me $4.) I liked pretty much the whole album, and decided
to order their first album, Star. This one was great too (not AS
great, mind you.) I went out and bought one of each of the import
singles that I saw floating around (for the unreleased songs.) Eventually,
I ended up seeing them in concert when I found out they were doing
a concert with Matthew Sweet (how can you turn down a concert like
that?) Yes, it was great. It could have been Heaven, but some punks
started moshing and surfing the crowd. Thank God there was a lot
of security to stop that sort of crap. If I wanted to be thrown
around, I would have went to a female mud wrestling joint instead
of a concert (as if this was music you could mosh to anyway.) Yes,
I was 15 feet away from Tanya as well. She has a beautiful voice
(and she's kinda cute.) I was kinda bummed out to learn that Belly
broke up, but all is not lost, Tanya's Solo album, "Lovesongs for
Underdogs" is amazing.
