Okay, back in Dec, 1993, I
receive the SNES game "Mario Paint" for Christmas. A friend and
I began making really gory death scenes with it (twisted, huh?)
Of course, we need a subject to die, so we chose the only human
picture they gave us, and that was Mario. One after another, we
created these horrible depictions of videogame death. Because of
the way Mario Paint loops the frames endlessly (not to mention the
fact that there was a maximum of nine frames,) we had to set up
the scene so that Mario went through the scene over and over again,
and therefore, it seemed that Mario never died. One night, it occured
to me, that since I was recording them all on VHS tape anyway, why
not make a movie out of it? So, I came up with a rather cheesy plot,
re-did the previous scenes better, and started the movie. My friend
began his own Mario movie (which he decided to also call "The Misadventures
of Mario") and with a similar plot, he made his movie (he soon gave
up on the movie (ran out of ideas maybe?)) Anyway, many of my friends
had wanted a copy of my movie, so there are a few versions floating
around. On each version, I dubbed Matthew Sweet music in the background,
because the movie seemed to go by slow without some sort of sound.
Only my "master copy" has no sound. Anyway, now that I have a PC,
I had a brainstorm one night and thought, why not create each death
as an animated gif, and show them on my web page for all to enjoy?
So here they are, enjoy!

One night while eating, Mario
was visited by the Grim Reaper who told him that it was his time
to die. Mario, thinking that he was going to Heaven, decided to
go with him. Unfortunately, Mario went to Hell because of all the
poor defenseless Goombas that he stomped to death. He made a pact
with the devil to live again, forever. But, the devil will make
his life very terrible for now on. If Mario gives up within a year,
the devil gets his soul. If not, Mario gets to live forever without
the devil bothering him. Mario, not taking the devil's warning to
heart, decides to roam the videogame multiverse on vacation. The
Devil, getting worried that Mario might make it, has even sent the
"Mario Ninja Clones" after him to really cause pain. These are the
things that happened to him on his journey.
