Sandy Compositor, Council Leader, welcomed Jim Russo and Chris Graygan from Liberty Mutual Insurance who gave members a presentation about Identity Theft and answered questions from the Membership. They collected cards that members filled out voluntarily for a raffle to be held after Delmar's General Meeting on December 15, 2004.
Doug provided copies of minutes from last General Meeting in Albany (May 12, 2004) which were approved by Membership.
Doug gave Treasurer's Report: To Date Treasury Balance = $3,828.93.
Scholarships: Discussion re Scholarship Drawing scheduled for December 15, 2004. The members expressed concerns about lack of information. Sandy explained that PEF is prohibited from disseminating information through Agency e-mail system other than Meeting Announcements. Sandy reminded membership that we have Website through PEF (Divisions, 203). Matt Cinadr and Fred Barney volunteered to assist in distribution of PEF Local Informational Flyers. Matt suggested that we look into PEF Headquarters mailing Local information to Members. Paul Eddy made a motion (seconded) to delay drawing of Scholarship for 6 weeks to allow uninformed members to submit applications. Albany members voted in favor of extending the application deadline for 6 weeks. Applications must be submitted to Doug or Sandy by the end of January 2005.
Bob Laurenzo, Parking Chair, advised that the average wait time for a permit = 23 years, 8 months.
Fred Barney wants clarification re Voucher Tuition Reimbursement. Doug will research and advise.
Members discussed vouchers instead of subs & soda. Members were encouraged by Sandy and Doug to consider running for Stewards for next election is Spring as Sandy plans to retire and help is needed for PEF in Agency 3.
