Sandy Compositor, Council Leader, welcomed Jim Russo from Liberty Mutual Insurance who gave members a presentation about Identity Theft and answered questions from the Membership. They collected cards that members filled out voluntarily for a raffle for a Paper Shredder which was held after the meeting ended and the winner is Sue Herlands.
Doug provided copies of minutes from last General
Meeting in Albany (May 2004) which were approved by Membership.
Doug read the minutes from the Albany meeting on December 14,2004.
Doug gave Treasurer's Report: To Date Treasury Balance = $3,729.53.
Scholarships: Albany members voted in favor of extending the application deadline for 6 weeks. Delmar members voted unanimously to extend the deadline. Applications must be submitted to Doug or Sandy by the end of January 2005.
Members expressed dissatisfaction with low number of parking permits available for when Delmar members need to attend meetings Downtown. Sandy will refer concerns to Bob Laurenzo, our Parking Chair.
Barry Bedrosian suggested that our webmaster make a Serve List for Division Members' home e-mails to receive Local Updates.
Steve Berger expressed concerns about Soc Sec # being used as Member ID# for Empire Plan. Subsequently, Doug contacted PEF and staff advised that this will be resolved in February 2005 when new ID#s are issued.
