POKINGBROOK MORRIS DANCERS

Pokingbrook Morris Dancers is a joint team comprised of separate men's and women's sides under a single Squire. We perform Cotswold dances from Adderbury, Bucknell, and Ducklington (men) and Bampton, Fieldtown, and Lichfield (women) at local fairs, festivals, and pubs in the upper Hudson River Valley and Capital District of New York State, in the USA. Our dancing season runs from late April to mid-June and again in late September and October. In colder months we practice and perform our winter traditions: the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, various Border dances, and the Kirkby-Malzeard longsword dance. We also travel to ales whenever we can.

Six fools and a Fool

You can dance with us!!!

New dancers and musicians are always welcome. To learn the dances, newcomers are encouraged to practice with us through the fall and winter for performances the following spring.

Practices are on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm in the Albany area. Visitors are welcome at any time, but should get in touch to verify practice and performance schedules.
