This is a state park located on the northern side of Long Island Sound. It's got lots of beaches, camping, parking, and large grassy fields. And it's a great place to fly. It's hard to beat the convenience - park right where you are going to fly - you don't need a wagon to haul your gear and kites. And if you're a camper, you can find a campsite very close (50 feet or so) to a field where you can fly.
The connectiKITERS hold several events there during the year. I've been there three times when there was no event planned and there was always some people flying. I've seen people kite buggying and kite boarding.
There is a charge for park entry - higher for out of state vehicles. Your receipt allows you to enter other CT state parks on the same day without an additional charge. I recently camped there and did not have to pay any additional fee to access the park - the fee for the campsite entitles you to both.
