How we came to find out about Ram Central and the Underground Railroad

One day a couple years ago the President of Ram Centrals daughter came
home with a note and this picture in an envelope. Apparentley one of her friends relatives (An elderly woman now) knew this house as a child and when she found out that this was the house she lived in she told her about its past. On the back of this picture 1956 was written, below is what the note in the envelope contained.(It was easier to type it out than scan it.) |

This house,in the cellar had a place to shackle slaves up
to. Also in the well in the cellar there is a tunnel halfway down, although I never saw it. It was supposed to go all the way to Dr. Kearns house, Saratoga Ave. (Which is on the other side of town) One time my Father owned this house & I spent my summers there & he had a small bakery there. |
