Schenectady County provides a number of solid waste services to County residents:

• Curbside Collection
• The residential and small business recycling center
• The yard waste composting program
• The bulk item collection program

• The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program
• Studies and Reports
• The recyclables processing facility often called the material recovery facility or MRF (pronounced murph) is operated by the Schenectady County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD).  The facility accepts recyclables from the City of Schenectady Recycling Collection Program as well as private waste and recycling collection programs
