All residents or businesses in Schenectady County that have abtained a
window sticker are welcome to use the facility. Only 1 1/2 cubic
yards may be brought at a time. 1 1/2 Cubic Yards is approximately
one pickup truck load. Larger loads should be delivered to the Material Recovery Facility
on Moyer Ave. in Rotterdam. Arrangements should be made in advance and a fee may be
charged for these larger loads.

Window Sticker & Fee Schedule
Window Stickers are required by everyone who desires to use the facility. Stickers can be purchased for $10 by any Schenectady County resident or small business. Stickers are good for one calendar year beginning January 1st and expiring on December 31st regardless of when they were purchased. Stickers should be placed on the right side of the front window of the vehicle that will be using the facility. A separate sticker must be purchased for each vehicle. Stickers can be purchased from the gatekeeper. Vehicle registration must be presented at time of purchase.
Quantity Limit - County residents with stickers may bring in up to 1 and 1/2 cubic yards of recyclables per day FREE. Arrangement should be maded to bring larger quantities of recyclables to the Schenectady County Recycling Facility in Rotterdam.

Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. 4/1 -11/30
9 a.m. - 2 p.m. 12/1 - 3/31
Acceptable Materials
Mixed Paper: Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, phone books, and brown paper bags. All these items can be mixed together and placed in the box marked Paper.
Mixed Containers: Plastic bottles & jugs, glass containers, steel & tin cans, aluminum cans, milk cartons & drink boxes and bleached paperboard (paperboard that is white beneath the coatings). All these items can be mixed together and placed in the box marked Containers.
Paint Cans: Must be empty except for a thin layer of dry paint. Paint cans can be thrown in with the mixed containers. Paint cans should be Box labled Containers.
Preparation
All materials must be empty, clean, dry and free of contamination. Unacceptable items include carbon paper, plastic bags and liners, bottle and jar tops, mirrors, light bulbs, pane glass, cook ware, rugs and any other unspecified item. Please remove labels and crush cans when possible.
