I visited this graveyard on May 14, 1998 and found most of the stones broken, missing, or unreadable. The tombs were covered over and unmarked. Though there seems to have been some attempt to clean up the area, this has come too late to preserve most of the markers. - Taylor Conard
1. Red sandstone with the inscription: "Here lies ye Body of Mrs. Sarah ye Wife of Mr. Lieut. Noah Taylor Who died May ye 9th, 1744. Aged 39 years."
2. Old blue slate with the inscription: "In Memory of Elizabeth the Wife of Lieut. Noah Taylor, who died August ye 29th A.D. 1766 in the 56th year of her age."
3. Old slate with the inscription: "Here lieth the Body of Lieut. Noah Taylor. He died Feb. ye 15th 1768 in the 69th Year of his Age. And his daughter Sarah died June 25th 1744 in the 13th year of her age."
4. Old blue slate with the inscription: "In Memory of Noah, son of Lieut. Noah Taylor & Sarah his wife who died August 25th 1749 in ye 21st year of his age."
5. Red sandstone, double with beveled edges, with inscriptions:
"Here Lyeth ye Body of Mr. Lieut. John Taylor who died November ye 18th
1744, Aged 77 years."
And, "Here Lyeth the Body of Mrs. Wait ye wife of Lieut. John Taylor
who died January 29th 1721/2, aged 51 years."
6. Much defaced grave with the inscription: "In Memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, wife to Mr. Asher Taylor, who died May 30th 1765, aged 22 years."
7. Red sandstone, double with beveled edges, with inscriptions: "In
Memory of Capt. John Taylor, who died 3rd May A.D. 1774, aged near 79 Years."
And, "In Memory of Mrs. Hannah Taylor wife of Capt. John Taylor who
died May 2nd 1774 aged 75 years."
Across bottom of both inscriptions:
"At once in Marriage we were joyned,
At once our vital breath resigned
At once in Death we were confined."
8. Common stone, very much warn, and leaning against the west
stone wall. The underscored dates given are doubtful and the place of the
grave unknown. Inscribed: "Eli Taylor's wife Eunice died September 10 A.D.
1757 aged 21 years (or 27).
Eli & Eunice Taylor's son died August 1779 aged 27 years."
9. Common stone inscribed: "Here lies the body of Mrs. Mary Taylor, wife to Mr. Asher Taylor, who died September 18th A.D. 1780 in the 35th year of her age."
In the second row, by themselves, are two white marble and one slate stones.
10. White marble stone inscribed: "In Memory of Molly wife of Barnabus Marvin who died April 3rd 1771 in the 29th year of her age."
11. White marble stone inscribed: "In Memory of Mary wife of Nathan Adams who died March 15, 1806. Aged 84."
12. Old slate inscribed: "In Memory of Mr. Nathan Adams who died
August 17, 1782, Aged 61 years 7 mos. & 8 days."

13. Old slate, small and crumbling, inscribed: "Here lies ye Body of Asahel Raymond, son to Asahel Raymond, who died February 18 1757, aged 5 months."
14. Deep, coarse sandstone inscribed: "Here lies ye Body of Mary ye wife of Asahel Raymond who died August ye 8 1750 in ye 41st year of her age."
15. Large, coarse common stone, some distance from the Taylor family graves, inscribed: "In Memory of Mr. Josiah Taylor who died February 11th 1781, aged 79 years."
16. Stone inscribed: "Wife of Mr. Josiah Taylor, died October 11, 1783."
All the tablets which are not otherwise marked are made of common, white marble. I have taken them in lines across the yard from north to south as much as possible considering the irregularity of the lines. Numberless graves have no headstone.

These are all the headstones now to be found in this graveyard at the date of this writing (Oct. 1886). There are numberless graves there without headstones, and some of the graves contain the remains of members of good families, who neglected, or had not the means, to procure headstones.
A grave not far from that of Ann, wife of James Hurlbutt, contains the remains of their daughter Mileson Hurlbutt who was born Jan, 3rd 1798 and died April 30th 1841.
Charlotte Hurlbutt was also buried there, a daughter of James & Ann Hurlbutt, born Feb. 13, 1791, died May 24th 1831.
Ann Hurlbutt (called Nancy), another daughter of James & Ann, was born Feb. 25th 1793 and died Janr'y 23rd 1837 and was buried in the tomb belonging to Taylor Hurlbutt (her uncle) and Daniel Platt.
James Hurlbutt, husband of Ann and father of the above and brother of Taylor Hurlbutt, was buried in Albany, NY and no gravestone to his memory can be found.
On the south side of the old graveyard from which the preceeding inscriptions have been taken there are seven tombs. Beginning at the southwest corner, they range in the following order:

(This tomb I caused to be opened on May 5th 1887, and all of the coffins were boxed and put in good shape by my son Frank and Aaron Welsh, who was hired by Mrs. Dickenson. 3. Noah Taylor had two wives, Sarah & Elizabeth. By Elizabeth he had a daughter, Leah, born Aug. 26, 1749 who married Carter Hickox. Noah Taylor was the son of Lieut. John Taylor (5) ; and brother to Captain John Taylor (7).
9. Asher Taylor was the son of Captain John Taylor; and after his wife's death, I think he removed to New Hampshire near his brother Nathaniel. (J.E.C.)
10. Molly was the first wife of Barnabus Marvin. She was the daughter of Nathan Adams & Mary Burr.
11. Mary Burr was the wife of Nathan Adams.
12. Nathan Adams was the son of Nathan Adams, Jr. and Rebecca Clapham.
14. In "Hall's Norwalk," the marriage of an older person by the name of Asahel Raymond is married to Mary Veal, April 22, 1784, and he was probably an ancestor of these.
15. Mr. Josiah Taylor was the son of Lieut. John Taylor and was born Oct. 17, 1701.
18. George Seeley was the husband of Marietta, daughter of Uriah Taylor.
26. Daniel Taylor was the tenth child of Levi Taylor & Patty Seymour, and the grandson of Josiah Taylor. Daniel was born July 17, 1781.
31. Captain John B. Bennett was the son of Capt. Isaac & Lydia Bennett and the grandson of Deliverance & Mary Bennett. He was the father of Mrs. Cynthia Bennett Wilson, and also Mrs. Mary Ferris (both deceased), and also the father of Sarah, 2nd wife of John Gault. Sally Bennett was the daughter of Peter Partrick.
34. Melison, relict of Peter Adams, was the daughter of Gideon Hurlbutt, Jr. and the sister of James, John, Gideon 3rd, and Taylor Hurlbut. She lived in the old house north of John W. Hulrbutt's and died there.
35. Ann wife of John Hurlbutt was the daughter of Nathan Adams and Mary Burr.
36. John Hurlbutt was the son of Gideon Hurlbutt, Jr. and Hannah Taylor daughter of Capt. John. He was the father of William Hulrbutt, Mrs. Sally Brower, Mrs. Harriet Lloyd of Sharon, and Mrs. Rebecca Taylor of Westport.
38. Catherine, wife of Hiram Hoyt, was the daughter of Daniel Warren.
39. Abigail, wife of Seth Taylor, was the sister of Daniel Warren.
40. Seth Taylor was the son of Seth and Martha Gaylord of Wilton. His 3rd wife is now living, (Rebecca Hurlbutt) and will be 90 in July.
41. Almira Taylor, wife of Seth Taylor, was the daughter of Levi Taylor, the youngest of 11 children.
45. Mr. Seth Taylor was the son of Capt. John Taylor and Hannah Stuart daughter of Lieut. James Stuart of Norwalk.
46. Martha, wife of Mr. Seth Taylor, was the daughter of the Rev. William Gaylord of Wilton, CT.
47. James Taylor was the youngest child of Seth Taylor and Martha Gaylord - the youngest of 9 children born Jan. 28, 1784.
48. Sally Taylor, daughter of Seth & Martha, born Sept. 1, 1788.
49. Ebenezer Disbrow was the uncle of Mr. A.S. Hurlbutt of Westport.
50. Samuel Disbrow & his wife Sarah were the grandparents of Mr. A.S. Hurlbutt.
54. Eliza, Phebe (55.), and Sally (56.) Hanford were daughters of Stephen and Phebe Hanford. Sally was the oldest.
59. Phineas Hanford, son of Capt. Phineas and Hannah Hanford, married Betty Adams in Sept. 1775. Their children were Nathan, Jabez, Betsy, Esther & Nancy.
61. Capt. Phineas Hanford, one of the committee to concur with the doings of the Continental Congress, held in Norwalk Dec. 5th 1774.
64. Stephen Hanford was the son of Capt. Phineas and brother of Phineas & Nathan.
65. Phebe, his wife, was Phebe Fitch.
66. Hannah, wife of Abijah Hanford, was Hannah Warren.
67. Abijah Hanford was the son of Stephen Hanford.
72. William Hanford was the son of Abijah and Hannah Warren.
75. Hannah Adams was the second wife of Aaron Adams. Her maiden name was Morehouse.
77. Aaron Adams was the son of Nathan & Mary Adams. He first married Rhoda Hanford by whom he had 7 children; and 2nd married Hannah Morehouse by whom he had 5.
88. Sarah(?) , wife of Obadiah Wright 1st, was Sarah Adams, dau. of Nathan Adams.
89. Gamaliel Taylor was the son of Nathan Adams & Mary Burr.
93. Daniel Adams was the son of Nathan Adams and Mary Burr.
94. Mr. Peter Adams was the son of Nathan Adams & Mary Burr.
96. Mabel was the second wife of Barnabus Marvin. Her name was Mabel Little. She was married to Barnabus in Jan. 16, 1773 and had three children: Sally, Betsey & Samuel.
97. Barnabus Marvin was the son of Matthew Marvin & Elizabeth Clarke. He first married Molly Adams & had by her 4 children; Barnabus, Molly, Nathan & Rebecca. His second wife was Mabel (see note 96 above.) He was born Dec. 25, 1739. His son, Barnabus, was born Dec. 4, 1764; married Hannah Richards on April 27, 1797; and died Sept. 7, 1848, aged 84.
103. Zalmon Adams was the son of Aaron and Rhoda Adams.
104. Ann, wife of James Hurlbutt, was the dau. of Thatcher Hayes of Lewisboro, NY. She was his 2nd wife. James Hurlbutt was buried in Albany, NY. He was the son of Gideon & Hannah. She was the great grandmother of Mr. A.S. Hurlbutt.
105. Isaac Hurlbutt was the son of James & Ann Hurlbutt.
106. Freelove, wife of Isaac, was the daughter of Daniel Nash, Sr. & Freelove Wright.
107. Nelson Adams was the son of Aaron & Hannah Adams.
118. Charlotte Rockwell was the daughter of John Baker.
