Notes: John Taylor, first of this family to appear in New
England, came from England with the Reverend Ephriam Hewitt in 1639 and
was in Windsor, CT as early as 1640.
John sailed in Longfellow's "Phantom
Ship" the first ship built in the Colony and sailed from New Haven in January
1645. There was never a name for the ship ever recorded, no trace
of the ship was found, and no complete passenger list has ever been made.
