Notes:  John Taylor, first of this family to appear in New England, came from England with the Reverend Ephriam Hewitt in 1639 and was in Windsor, CT as early as 1640.
      John sailed in Longfellow's "Phantom Ship" the first ship built in the Colony and sailed from New Haven in January 1645.  There was never a name for the ship ever recorded, no trace of the ship was found, and no complete passenger list has ever been made.

Notes:   John, the son of John of Windsor, was born in 1641, was a Captain, and killed by the Indians on May 13th 1704.  He was killed while pursuing the Indians, who had destroyed the village of Pasemuck.

Notes:  Licensed to preach Oct. 7, 1747; he began as a pastor of a church in New Milford, CT; was ordained June 29, 1748; and continued preaching in New Milford until his death.  He accepted an appointment from the Governor of the Colony to serve as chaplain to Colonel Nathan Whiting's regiment in the campaign of 1762, against French occupied Crown Point.  He was elected a Fellow of the Corporation of Yale College in September 1774 and retained this office until his death.
