Our Guestbook

This is the place to come to see all the messages that people submit to me about our wedding, this site, and life in general. Now, we've had a minor change since moving to the new server, and that is NO CGI ACCESS.  This means no more form to submit.  I'm working on getting a third-party guestbook in place, but until then, please don't hesitate to submit via the E-Mail link below.  And remember, check back often!

Mom & Dad Shannon: Dear Jim and Missy- Thank you for such a beautiful day. This was one of the proudest days of our lives! May God bless and keep both of you in His care. Love, Mom and Dad

Mom & Dad Feck: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: It's not unusual for parents to dream of the future while watching their children grow. They wonder who their children will become and where they will go and what they will do. They wonder if they will grow safely, they wonder if they will be successful in the pursuit of their dreams and if they will be happy. Will they fall in love? So many "wonders," so many "wishes," for their children...health, happiness and love. We are so very proud of who you've become and of how you've arrived where you are. Jim, you've filled our lives with laughter and tears and more joy than we imagined when we began this family journey together, and we thank you. We believe you have found your perfect soulmate in Melissa and welcome her into our hearts with open arms. We thank you both for sharing with us a truly special wedding day. We are so very proud of the two of you. Now begins a new set of "wishes" for the newest branch of our families...may you always feel the depth of joy in each other and commitment to each other that you felt on your wedding day. May you have a long and happy life together. May you always cherish and enjoy each other. May you always be each other's best friend. And may you be blessed with children who are as wonderful as ours! We love you. Mom and Dad

Grandma & Grandpa Dannecker: Dear Jim & Melissa-- When 2 beautiful people such as you marry, the wedding can be nothing but beautiful. Gramma and I are proud to have been a part of your wedding day. Love, Gramma & Grampa Dannecker.

Aunt Mary: Good morning, sweetie!!! The Depew babes came to work early to view this WONDERFUL webpage. It's wonderful!! Just like Millie and Jimmie!!!! This has been a real treat. You are very talented, and I am very impressed since I am computer illiterate, and am convinced computers are magic, anyway!! Kiss Millie for me, then she should kiss you for me, and then you are on your own!! XXXX Mare

Wendy Newburn: Evaluation: It was pretty cool. Comments: What are the top three key pieces of advice you'd give to newlyweds to be? (We're planning for May 17, 1997.) -Wendy

Authors' Response: The first thing is to put as much effort into the little things as possible, they yield the biggest dividends. For example, we purchased a bunch of Godiva ballotins and made arrangements with all of the hotels in which our out-of-town guests were staying to have the chocolates left in their rooms before they arrived. Also, consider things like the centerpieces at the tables at the reception. We had extremely high narrow vases for the flowers. This way, while people were seated, they could see the person across the table from them without having to look through the equivalent of a shrub. The second piece of advice is to delegate. Delegate things to the best man. Delegate things to the maid/matron of honor. Delegate, delegate, delegate. Explain your wishes and then don't worry about it. For example, let the best man deal with paying the service providers at the end of the evening. This frees you up to perform the last (and possibly most important) piece of advice, ENJOY YOURSELF!!! It's your day. Plan it how YOU want. Live it how YOU want. Get to the reception and enjoy it. Do some pictures before the ceremony to allow for this. (In fact, by doing this, we even made it back for about half of the cocktail hour!) One final "bonus" piece of advice is to BE CREATIVE. Creativity speaks volumes to your guests and also stretches your dollars to their fullest. For example, we produced about 120 custom wedding programs, all individually signed (remember the little things), with very little money, a moderate degree of creativity, and quite a bit of work. In the end, it was certainly worth it since our guests loved them. You can see the program here. This page takes a little while to download, but it will eventually. We got the covers from a company family owned company called Weddingware, and the rest we did ourselves. Good Luck!

Sarah Fazziola: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: Hey guys! I finally made it !!! I'm at my parents' house, marveling at the fact that other peoples computers actually WORK when you use them (not to bust on my father-in-law, or anything)... I'll have to drag Paul over here to sign in as well...Talk to you two soon! --Mrs. Fazz The Second

Aunt Mary and Uncle Sam Losi: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: It was great sharing your day with you. Good luck in the future. --Love, Aunt Mary & Uncle Sam.

Kari Nicholson: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: I found your web page through the "Way Cool Weddings" page, and it is just that - way cool!!! I loved looking through your wedding pages. I am getting married in Sacramento, California on October 4, 1997. Melissa's dress was beautiful! I am still looking for the perfect dress, and have yet to find it. Melissa's dress is exactly what I keep describing at the bridal salons, but somehow I haven't come across anything like it. If you don't mind my asking, do you know the maker of that dress (possibly even the style number)? I would be eternally grateful for any information you could give me. Thank You!!! Kari :-) By the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You seem perfect for each other, and good luck on a wonderful future together.

Staci Williams: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: Great page. Several times it brought tears to my eyes. I love how you refer to Melissa as 'your bride'. It was a great page! Congratulations on your marriage and Thank You for sharing it with us all. --Staci

Sue Ann Brade: Dear Jim I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed visiting your wedding page. October is such a nice time for a wedding in New York State and everything from Melissa's dress to the flowers to the cake looked gorgeous. I also liked seeing the pictures of your cats. I have two of my own-Dickens, a gray-striped male, and his sister, Nellie, who is grey and white. Best wishes to you and Melissa for many happy years to come! --Sue Ann

Deborah Desjardins: Evaluation: It was very cool. Comments: You should make it so that the continuous music is optional. Any suggestions on a "different" yet "classy" wedding dance song? We've been considering songs such as "Never My Love" by The Temptations, "When You Wish Upon A Star" recorded by Stephen Bishop and a few others. Our wedding is May 3 and a friend of ours is choreographing our first dance and wants to get started on it soon. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you very much and CONGRATULATIONS!!

Author's Note: Try "Lover Lay Down" from the Dave Matthews' Band's Under the Table and Dreaming CD. It's very different, very classy and VERY beautiful.

Stacey Sullivan: Evaluation: It was pretty cool.

I found this really cool site, where you entered the day's date, then your wedding date, and the planner automatically set up dates when you had to have things done by. of course, I didn't bookmark it, and then threw away my copy of the planner...yikes!! well...any help would be appreciated!! thanks, Valerie

Authors' Response: I'm not sure which site you mean, but we'll look for it. In the meantime, if anyone out there reading this can help Valerie, let me know. Hey, this gives me a great idea for this site...a "Wedding Resources" area. Stay tuned...

We also met in January (15th of '94) and were married in the fall (Dec 7, 1996). We also have a "child", Hunter, who is our 6 month old Maine Coon, also found (we found her in Mark's apartment complex when she was just 4 weeks old!). Good luck!

Jill Guimont: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: Thank You...I loved it!!!!

Wendy: Evaluation: It was very cool. Comments: I enjoyed your site very much. I am an event planner and always like to hear comments from brides after their big day. What would you have liked to have seen done differently? I look forward to your updates and hearing from you personally. :)

E. Byrl Moore: Evaluation: It was very cool. Comments: Once again, best wishes to the happy couple! Jim, you shouldn't be so coy in regard to advertising your expertise in helping others develop a page like yours! I especially like to hear about your "family", as we have a kitty who hails from "Whiskers" also.

Kathy & Bill Nixon: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: Jim & Melissa, my first trip into "cyberspace" was to view your wedding pictures and entire scrapbook! While I had the greatest time at the wedding itself (how 's your head Kenny!) I laughed and cried at the story of your life and love. What a beautiful story, I hope to be able to access this for years to come. Leon's story brought the tears to my eyes, you are very special people and as you could probably guess from my "address" you'll always hold a special place in my heart. Many years of love & happiness, kathy.

PS: LOST at wedding reception, 1 Minolta 35 mm camera, nothing fancy, Pictures inside are of wedding and the Dannecker side of family. If found contact me or Jim and Melissa. Thanx.

Carole Haigney: Evaluation: It was totally cool! Great job! Comments: Your floral front piece on the program is lovely. I am the mother the bride-June 28 wedding on Cape Cod with a reception in a tent in our back yard. Yikes!!! Weather??? We are at the hectic detail stage. I am learning Microsoft Publisher and have the program format down pat! If the weather doesn't cooperate we'll have the men go clamming or toss a line out for a "striper" in back of the house--fishing is good in the rain--just joking. My very best wishes to you both as you get ready to celebrate 6 months! --Carole Haigney

On a serious note...GREAT site! I feel so proud my little Jimmy is growing up. Your wife is quite a pretty woman. Congratulations to you both!
