~ SITE STATUS ~October 16, 2004 - I have been playing with my maps. I have taken down the old maps and I have new maps up. One with all of the Geographic features labled, a new and improved Gov. & Cultures Map and a map of Central Whent showing the borders of all the governments and cultures. I have also taken this last map and broken it out to show the major concentrations of the various races/cultures!!! Each of the appropriate race pages now has a map at the top of the page showing the area that has the largest concentration of the given race! The races I have gotten to so far are the: Ansud , Fal - Peasantry , Fal - Tribal , Jurri , Kellit , Kurrick [Free-Cities Clansmen] , Monnit , Obucc , Ossian , P'pooula , Tarn , Vedill , Zurrtanni (Imperials) , Jurri Half-Breed , Wolf-Runner [Kurrick Half-Breed]" , Gorron (Dwarves/Stone Elves) , Teleri (Wood Elves) , Grallini (Wolf-men) , Kakkeli (Hyena-men) , Kankoran (Fox-men) , Phthyssysn (Lizardmen) , Sessell (Arachnoids) , Goblin , Hobgoblin , Kobold , Shaguk-mîm (Common Orc) , Shaguk-cûr (Greater Orc) , Shaguk-gûl (Grey Orc). October 11, 2004 - The Githyanki, the Githzerai and the Hin [Halfling/Hobbit] now have HARP stats and Racial Talents up on both their race pages here on the website and in the excel CHARACTER SHEET on the Downloads page. A few other minor corrections - spelling and the like. :) October 7, 2004 - The CHARACTER SHEET on the Downloads page now had the Beast Races added. I have not coded the talents in yet so skill adjustments will have to be added by hand. I have a re-union to go to this weekend but if I can manage the tiume I will add adolescent skills for each of the beast to both this website and the Character sheet. October 6, 2004 - The HARP Stats and Racial talents for almost all of the Beast Races are up. All except the Grataar. Check out the Bear-men, Wolf-men, Hyena-men, Fox-men, Bird-men, Insect and Arachnid creatures, Lizard-men and Panther-men. I will look to update the excel character sheet later today and I'll work on getting the textual race descriptions typed in. October 4, 2004 - The Druidic Way page is up!! This is the first of my expanded information on the religions of Whent. Huge kudos go to Aaron Smalley who was my inspiration and partner when we worked up Druidry a few years back. Check out his site the World of Aernth. He has also done a ton of other stuff including the Archendurn setting/module for sale through The Guild Companion. October 3, 2004 - A few minor corrections and clarifications but the big thing is the first of the Governments are up! While it is by no means complete check out the Tarnheld Kingdoms. I am also re-mapping Whent (since I got some new Mapmaking programs from Pro-Fantasy) and the first of the new maps is up on the Gov. & Cultures Map [BMP] page. (It is in BMP format and the image is just over 1.4 megs so it may take a bit to load.) The other, older maps are still up and you can see the difference. Using Fractile Terrains and CC2 Pro I put this together in about 30 minutes and the rest of the entire world is mapped as well. It gives me pleanty of room to branch out if I want to - or I can just leave it as a mystery. I should mention that during that 30 minutes I also now have an Altitude map, Climate map, Temperature map, Rainfall map and a map that they call "Gaia" which looks the same as a picture of Earth taken from space (although I didn't take the time to put the clouds in! ;). If you want to see what Whent looks in the Gaia view go to the Whent - Gaia View [BMP] page. Another warning though - this BMP weighs in at 2.95 megs. October 1, 2004 - Some fairly major changes in the site layout. I have combined the Adventurer's Guide and the Worldbook into the World Guide. The World Guide is the major portion of the site and contains information on the world of Whent as well as all of my House Rules. I think this layout is much more user friendly. I have added an Adolescent Skill Development page with 28 Adolescent Skill packages at the moment and many more to come. Another major change - and the primary reason I changed the layout - is that each of the individual race pages contains all of the information for that race. Each race has a page of its own and each race has General Description, HARP Stats, Racial Talents and Adolescent Skill Development information on the race all together on one page. Lastly I have chopped the htlm menu at the bottom of each page down considerably. As the site has been growing and changing it has become an increasing hassle to keep it up to date. From this point forward the menu will have only the main pages and a linkto a Site Map. I will keep the site map and the javascript menu current. If anyone has more suggestions keep sending them in. There are a ton of races complete as well as talents, spell spheres, house rules and the like. I'll keep plugging away. If there is something in particular someone wants to see let me know. September 11, 2004 - The CHARACTER SHEET is largely complete. I have to add some information on some of the races on it but everything else is pretty much fini! Check out the Downloads page and check it out! On the web pages I have gotten up a bunch of the adolescent skill information for the Human races. Check out the Zurrtanni and the Kurrick in particular. September 8, 2004 - In my opinion the best character sheet out there is Johnathan Dale's excel character sheet. I have taken that and adjusted it to fit my Professionless HARP rules varient. I have also added Whent races, talents and cultures. You can find the character sheet on the Downloads page. Obviously I have registered the site as a member of the ICE Roleplaying Webring and I managed some housekeeping tasks. I am looking at ways to format the adolescent ranks gained from the various cultures/social classes and as soon as I have figured that out I will have that up next. Lastly there are a couple of spells I have written up that I am going to put over in the Arcane Spell Casting page. (And that page will be re-worked a bit to divide it up into seperate pages for the Arcane Spheres area, New Spells area and Magic Items area.) August 21, 2004 - Reformatted the Professionless HARP page to make it more usable. Basically I wrote out the character creation process with the changes necessary to develope a Professionless Character. (Ya still need the HARP rules though. I didn't rewrite any of that stuff!) I also got up the Racial Talents for some of the Human Races. Check out the Fal, Jurri, Kellit, Kurrick, Monnit, Obucc and Zurrtanni and throw your comments my way. August 20, 2004 - Links to HARP HQ and ICE are obviously up. :) Also check out the Elven Races and the Bae'urgh (Gnomes). I have gotten up the Racial Talents for those races. I hope to get the Racial Talents for the Human and Half-Breed races in the next day or so. Then I will concentrate on getting the Adolescent Skill ranks for the various racial cultures. It is all written up (for the major races anyway). The question is finding the time to type and code the html. (And I am one of those who uses notepad to write and edit pages - mostly since that is the way I know best! :) August 17, 2004 - My excuse is that work has been a bear! :) If anyone is interested I coordinate the security for the NY Giants Football Summer camp and that and some family requirements have kept me running. Anyway... I have gotten a couple of small things done on the House Rules area of the site. Not a lot but Professionless HARP page has gotten some updates as has the New/Revised Talents page. Lastly the first of the Whent Spell Spheres have gone up on the Arcane Spell Casting page. July 18, 2004 - Not much time to work on the site today - gotta pay the bills! :) I did get the time to go through and remove the background image. I think the site is much more legable with the basic black background. More in a day or two. July 17, 2004 - Racial stat charts are up on the Racial Stats page of the House Rules. Currently the Human Races, Half-Breed Races and Elven Races are complete. The Altaar, Bae'urgh [Gnome] and Hin [Halfling/Hobbit] are done on the Other Races page. These are just the basic stats. Racial talents and cultural ranks/skills for at least these races I will try to have up by week's end. July 16, 2004 - First status note.
