Note: the "Disc." column lists the number of Discretionary Points that the player may distribute among the character's stat bonuses. No more than 3 discretionary points may be added to any one stat's bonus.

Racial Talents
The Githzerai possess the following Racial Talents:
Adept Learner (Major) - As described in the New/Revised Talents area of this website.
Arcane Ineptitude - All - As described in the New/Revised Talents area of this website. The Githzerai have a strong natural connection to the very essence of magic - but they are astoundingly poor spell casters. They are much better at learning to invoke the powers of their "Personal Nexus" below. Note that the Githzerai do not suffer the -10 to all RRs made to resist the effects of spells - but they may never have any spell as a favored skill and should they take the time to learn any spells they would always suffer a -10 to their spell casting roll. The Githzerai may also never take the Eloquence talent nor any other talent that adds a bonus to spell casting maneuvers.
Blood Magic - As described in the College of Magic rulebook. The Githzerai gain Ley Line Transport, Nexus Communication and Nexus Gate as Blood Magic Talents. Since they are effectively their own Nexus they may use these spells without having to be within a Nexus and are considered to have an active ley line extending from themselves to nearest Nexus (and any other Nexi should more than one be within 1 mile per rank in the appropriate Use Blood Magic skill. Githzerai may gain a number of additional Blood Magic talents at each level equal to their current level. (One at first level, two more at second level, etc.) The Blood Magic talents are subject to GM approval and are limited to spells that effect the Githzerai. Effects that take effect outside of the Githzerai such as bolt or ball spells are not available to the Githzerai. The Githzerai must spend DP as normal to gain these talents and ranks in the appropriate Use Blood Magic skills. The Githzerai may gain access to scaled versions of these Blood Magic abilities in the same manner as described for the Bae'urgh but they may choose to use the scaling options or not as they like. [Note: that the Githzerai may never transport anyone beyond themselves when activating their Nexus Gate Blood Magic talent. Not even other Githzerai.]
Favored Skill Category - As described in the New/Revised Talents area of this website. The Githzerai have a natural facility with the arcane which provides them access to the Mystic Arts skill category as a favored skill category. The Githzerai also gain access to the Martial Arts skills (Ag & Co Styles and Sweeps), Chi skills (All) and the Mental Focus skill. This is considered a second Favored Skill Category for the Githzerai and the cost of any additional Favored Skill Category talents must be adjusted accordingly.
Lesser Resistance (All) - As described in the College of Magic rulebook.
Mental Resolve - As described in the College of Magic rulebook.
Personal Nexus - Each Githzerai has a powerful connection to the very essence of magic and is, in effect, a nexus. This allows them to activate Blood Magic abilities similar to those of High Mages without having to seek out a nexus. Persons other than the individual Githzerai gain no benifit from the Githzerai's status and indeed even High Mages cannot seem to detect or utilize the 'nexus' within the Githzerai. It is rumored, however, that elder Githzerai do have ways of effecting an individual Githzerai's connection to the Arcane - even to the point of locking the connection down and preventing the Githzerai from utilizing any ability that derives from this connection. Note that a Githzerai who is within a Nexus and activates their own Nexus gate successfully is automatically teleported to any studied Nexus of their choice.
Sense Magic - As described in the HARP rulebook.
Tap Personal Mana - As described in the College of Magic rulebook. The Githzerai may never learn or benifit from any other type of mana tapping skill/ability.
Due to their astounding natural abilities the Githzerai start with only 60 DPs ( instead of 80) plus the bonus DP they receive from their Stats.
Adolescent Skill Ranks
Characters from this race must choose one of the Adolescent Skill packages listed below as common to their racial type unless they possess the Changeling talent - in which case they may choose any Adolescent Skill package as provided for in that talent description. (See the Adolescent Skill Development page for a list of all of the available packages.)
